Late heartbreak for battling Blue Brazil

Cowden lost a sickening late goal after battling back into the match at the Strathclyde Home Stadium.

The match started off at a rapid pace with Cowden creating a great chance after 3 minutes with Paul McQuade firing over with the goal gaping. Dumbartons Michael O'Byrne headed onto the post after a cracking cross from the impressive Carcary.

It was to be Carcary who would open the scoring after running down the right wing before cutting in to fire a delightful shot into the top corner of the net.  A contender for goal of the season that left Davie Hay with no chance.

The second half kicked off with Cowden in control but unable to make any clear cut chances.  The 3 points looked good for Dumbarton as injury time begun.

Then the drama begun! Derek Flemings free-kick was floated to the back post where Paul McQuade was on hand to shoot home.  Cowden looked to have snatched a deserved point but there was to be one more twist in the tale. A cross into the Cowden box found Ben Gordon who headered home to send the home support wild and make it a sad end to the day for the Cowden faithful who had travelled through.

Cowden now face Montrose at Central Park on Saturday the 4th with a 3pm kick off.
