Stalemate no good for Beath
Cowdenbeath slipped into the bottom two after a goalless draw at Dumbarton.
Both sides had chances to win the game but the woodwork denied them on three occasions.
The hosts almost took the lead in spectacular fashion after 15 minutes when Jordan Kirkpatrick flicked the ball up and crashed a volley against the crossbar from 25 yards.
Moments later Mark Gilhaney's curling effort was tipped away by Thomas Flynn.
Shortly before half-time Sons striker Mitchel Megginson beat Flynn to a long ball and nudged it past the Cowdenbeath keeper, but also past the post.
The visitors' best chance came early in the second half when James Stevenson hit a post and Kane Hemmings blasted the rebound over the top with the goal gaping.
Megginson was denied by the post again on the hour mark before the game petered out with rain teaming down in the closing stages.
