Cowden Extend Lead

Cowden battled to get a point against promotion rivals Dumbarton to help extend their lead at the top of the table. Nearest rivals (and next opponents for the next couple of games) Stenhousemuir blew a lead to lose 2-1 against Berwick Rangers which means Cowdens lead is now up to 5 points with 2 games in hand.

Todays game saw Cowden dominate the opening stages before Dumbarton snuck the opening goal against the run of play. After that the Sons dominated up until half time and then at the beginning of the second half before Cowden managed to sneak an equaliser themselves. John Dempster firing home rom inside the box.

Davie Hay was Cowdens hero with numerous good saves to take a point home to Central Park which is where Cowden will be taking on Stenny next Saturday.
