Apologies for the lack of updates in recent weeks - the site editor has just moved flat and started a new job so has had little time to access the internet.
Cowden's pre-season so far hasn't gone too well. After a 2-2 draw away against Ballymena United (trialist and Mark Ramsay with the goals to bring it back from 2-0 down), Cowden took on Brechin City on Tuesday night.
Brechin City 5 - 1 Cowdenbeath
Not a good result. Once again it was Mark Ramsay who scored for Cowden (and it must be noted Mini has been playing well in pre-season and deserves a shot in the starting line up). Today Cowden again lost, this time to Stenhousemuir (1-0). This time it was a much better performance with Cowden creating numerous chances and just not hitting the net.
This may be down to the loss of key strikers Paul McQuade and Gareth Wardlaw to St Mirren. The top 2 scorers last season both will be in the SPL next season and they leave with the best wishes of everybody at Cowden.
